TERMS & CONDITIONS

The objective of FANGIO RACING CLUB (the “Club”) is to expand GREYHOUND ownership to the next generation at a price everyone can afford. The following are the terms and conditions of all GREYHOUNDS but if they cause any issues or you don’t understand how anything will work please ring Niall Conlon (07491970422) and he’d be happy to chat through. Our promise to you is to provide the best experience your GREYHOUND is able to provide to the best of our abilities. We also promise to ensure the well being of the animals in our care. Our GREYHOUNDS look after us so we need to look after our GREYHOUNDS. By placing your order on FANGIO RACING CLUB you hereby agree to the following terms and conditions that apply to each sale on our website:

  • FANGIO RACING CLUB confers on unit holders to a pro-rata share, in certain benefits, associated with the Club’s GREYHOUND in training. The benefits of membership are:

    • own a GREYHOUND with a leading syndicator benefiting from our years of experience racing GREYHOUND at the top level worldwide;

    • an opportunity to race your GREYHOUND in our colours together without the financial risk of having to sell out the syndicate;

    • information on our GREYHOUND and trips to the races, trainer and pre-trainer to see them;

    •  hospitality events linked to a race meeting or trainer stable visit will also be offered to members at commercial rates negotiated on a best value-for-money basis;

    • free entry to the racecourse and access to the parade ring on a best efforts basis depending on attendees. Where more owners then tickets are attending the meeting, a draw will take place whereby each owners will be put in a draw proportional to their shareholding thereby ensuring those with a bigger investment will have a greater chance of attending while also allowing minority unit holders the chance to attend. In our experience, it is rare we are not able to accommodate all owners with a ticket. Therefore, we hope this will be limited in its impact to unit holders as we’ll work hard to persuade racecourses where we can however there may be times it cannot be avoided; and

    • a pro-rata unit share in 100% of any net prize money won by the Club’s GREYHOUND and any net proceeds from the sale of the GREYHOUND in accordance with the terms and conditions.

  • 100% of all prize money won by the Club’s GREYHOUND in training during the period of membership shall be distributed as follows:

    • Prize money will be distributed once a year per syndicate, usually in the first quarter of the year for TRACK GREYHOUNDS and during spelling (normally, but not always, the summer) for our COURSING GREYHOUND;

    • The sum allocated to unit holder will be the net total paid to the Club by GREYHOUND Racing Ireland minus race-day expenses related to any additional fees

    • There can never be any guarantee of any future level of prize money given the vagaries of GREYHOUND racing (just say your prayers please).

  • Each unit corresponds to 1% of the GREYHOUND. The maximum numbers of units will not exceed 100. No person may share a unit less then 1%.

  • Each GREYHOUND will not be insured and shall run at our own risk unless otherwise informed.

  • Each GREYHOUND which runs outside the country of the trainer in foreign travel and any other related expenses is at the expense of the syndicate. However, this cost will not exceed the monthly payment terms but rather come out of prize money or as otherwise agreed by the syndicate.

  • Failure to pay a monthly payment on the due date of the first of each month or before will see you issued with a payment reminder warning during which period you must make payment. Failure to make payment after this a ten-day warning period will see all prize money and equity interest in the GREYHOUND be foregone (subject to Club’s discretion only).  You will still be liable for upkeep of GREYHOUND notwithstanding any non-payment and all rights will be reserved to pursue for this sum.

  • Failure to collect prize money shall see it retained by the Club if not collected after 2 years.

  • If a GREYHOUND is offered as a lease, in the event of an offer to buy a GREYHOUND prior to the expiry of the lease, while the syndicate members do not own the GREYHOUND, they may vote to accept the offer to buy out their lease and surrender the remainder of their lease by a majority of owners (by percentage).

  • The syndicate is liable for all costs related to the sale of the GREYHOUND, including all relevant sale. commissions and expenses. All sales of syndicate GREYHOUNDS are subject to a 7.5% commission payable to the Club.

  • If a GREYHOUND is offered as a lease, the lease shall expire on the date set out on the website. The monthly fee must be paid for the month of termination.

  • All-inclusive veterinary fees are subject to a threshold of €2,500 for exceptional veterinary fees which then will be payable by the syndicate.

  • Members must be aged 18 or over. Any person banned or warned off by any racing authority may not become a member of “the Club”.

  • Please note as you are a registered owner of this GREYHOUND you may not use the inside information you possess to take advantage of adverse performance of the GREYHOUND. You can of course back the GREYHOUND to win or place when you deem appropriate from the information you possess.

  • Members of the Club will be expected to behave in a respectful manner on visits and activity days. Any member in breach of this may be removed from the Club, at my discretion.

  • Membership is primarily a personal entertainment. It is not an investment opportunity.

  • All GREYHOUNDS are sold as they stand. The Purchaser is not to rely on any physical description of the GREYHOUND contained in any sales catalogue, or any description given by FANGIO RACING CLUB or its employee as to conformation, health or soundness, but is to rely on the Purchaser’s own examination and/or judgement in relation to those matters. Title and possession will be deemed to have passed to the Purchaser when the sale is agreed, whether verbally or in writing, when all risk shall pass to the Purchaser.

  • All decisions relating to the GREYHOUNDS, trainers, administration, and general management, shall be vested in Club (in consultation with the syndicate members but ultimately at the reasonable decision of the Club).

  • You agree to adhere to these conditions (as amended) by virtue of your payment for your unit(s).

  • GREYHOUND Racing Ireland (GRI) requires your personal details for client identity verification, subsequent client management and communications from HRI. This consent is required to facilitate your registration as an owner with HRI. Please visit gri.ie for Privacy Notice

  • In the event of winding up the club, all payments to GREYHOUND Racing Ireland, the GREYHOUNDS trainer and any other expenses will take priority over the distribution of funds to unit holders.

  • FANGIO RACING CLUB reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time subject to notice. 

  • In the event of any disputes arising between members or between a member and the Club, these will be resolved through mediation and, if necessary, arbitration, to ensure a fair and efficient resolution process.

  • We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal information will be used solely for the purposes of managing your membership and communicating with you. It will not be shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law.

  • Members may cancel their membership with a written notice of 30 days. Upon cancellation, members will forfeit any rights to prize money and any remaining equity in the GREYHOUND, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Club.

  • Members are expected to uphold the reputation of FANGIO RACING CLUB. Any conduct deemed detrimental to the Club’s reputation, including but not limited to misconduct at race meetings or on social media, may result in termination of membership.

  • Members will receive regular updates on their GREYHOUNDS training progress, upcoming races, and any other relevant information via email, the dedicated app, or the WhatsApp group. It is the member’s responsibility to keep their contact information up to date.

  • By becoming a member of the Club, you consent to the use of your name, image, and any photos or videos taken during Club events for marketing and promotional purposes by FANGIO RACING CLUB.

  • FANGIO RACING CLUB, its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the membership, including but not limited to, lost profits, loss of opportunity, or damages resulting from the performance or non-performance of any GREYHOUND.

  • FANGIO RACING CLUB will not be liable for any failure to perform any of its obligations under these terms and conditions due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, or government actions.

  • All members agree to comply with the rules and regulations of the relevant racing authorities. Any breach of these regulations may result in disciplinary action by the Club, including termination of membership without refund.

  • By paying your once off, monthly or yearly fees you expressly agree to these terms and conditions.

  • The terms outlined in the page of the GREYHOUND at the time of entry into the Club are expressly incorporated. The terms of the GREYHOUND page supersede these general terms where they conflict.
